OUR MISSION
The Taigishin-kan is committed to a Spreading Project for the popularization of old-style martial arts, offering a system of study called Koyama-ryu Kobujutsu. The Koyama-ryu is a system that includes two parts, one relating to the Okinawa-den i.e. the tradition of Ryukyu martial arts, and one relating to the Nihon-den i.e. relating to the more specifically Japanese tradition.
Koyamaryu Kobujutsu Taigishinkan is a registered trademark (™).
The Okinawa-den Koyamaryu Kobujutsu Taigishinkan is a system recognized by the International Martial Arts & Culture Federation (Osaka), federation endorsed by the Ministry of State for Special Missions of Japan; the system is recognized for the high cultural value and contribution to the dissemination of Okinawan karate.
After a specific mastering course you'll receive a specific teaching license in Koyama-ryu Kobujutsu Taigishin-kan, and going on you'll can test yourself into the specific styles (Kojoryu, Shorinryu, etc) receiving specific ranking certification in them. The mastering course is opened to all karateka of any style and system, with the minimum rank of 2nd dan.
You can also receive a Certificate of Recognition for your martial path, for your current rank and in your martial art, as well as ascend to the next rank.
Please read below…
What is this rank recognition issued by Taigishin-kan?
Can I receive a rank recognition in any martial art and style?
If I've held my rank for many years, can I advance to the next rank?
It's a ratification. The ratification of the rank/title provides for the recognition of the validity of your own Dan/teaching license below the Taigishin-kan®, with the issue of the specific diploma for the discipline in question, recognition is possible for Nihon bunka (traditional Japanese culture) and Bujutsu/Budo (classical and modern martial arts). The certification is issued exclusively by the Kancho, it represents the best way to have recognized one's path as a traditional budoka, regardless of the style, association or dojo previously attended.
Registration can take place for any ryu (style) or ryu-ha (branch) as long as one's martial art conforms to Taigishin-kan®, and the technical program is considered "valid" by the Kancho, assessed on the basis of his experience and consultation that the same can request from their Japanese Saiko-Komon (High Councilors). The rank already earned is a serious measure of one's value as a budoka within the martial art of competence, so note that the Dan certification issued by the Taigishin-kan® bears the name of one's martial art and not the name of a specific ryu or ryu-ha, so it will be for example "Okinawa Karate-do" or "Okinawa Kobudo", “Jissen Aikido”, “Nihon Jujutsu”, “Nihon Karate-do”, etc., being the ideal practice of Taigishin-kan® and preserve traditional martial arts regardless of any specific style.
Of course, you can go up to the next rank, but always after careful evaluation of the curriculum.
Can I receive recognition of my own style?
Recognition of one's own style (ryu-ha personal method) is only possible following Dan recognition in a classical martial art, and for a minimum grade/qualification of Yondan (4th Dan) Jun Shihan (Junior Teacher).
What is the value of the certificate I receive?
What else does this recognition allow me to do?
What is the recognition process?
The certificate received has no legal value for sporting or association purposes; each participant is responsible for meeting the bureaucratic requirements of their own country. The certification represents the best way to have recognized one's path as a traditional budoka, regardless of the style, association or dojo previously attended. The diploma is compiled and calligraphed according to the traditional scheme and technique by the Kancho (remembering he’s a recognized calligrapher teacher in Japan), signed by the himself and authenticated with original hanko (seals), so the diploma itself also represents an authentic work of Shodo with remarkable artistic value.
The ratification allows that the teacher can automatically give to all his students a membership certificate with the text "Member in good standing with the school of martial arts and traditional Japanese culture Taigishin-kan® for the current year”, (the certificate must however be supervised by the Kancho), as well as to require the Taigishin-kan certificates for the Kyu students, and twinning his dojo to Taigishin-kan.
Acceptance of the request for ratification is subject to discretionary and unquestionable assessment by the Kancho.
The applicant must have already fulfilled the provisions of Point 3 of the Code of Taigishin-kan.
Please contact the honbu to receive the Code with all info.
